This adorable gnome basket is just perfect for holding your holiday treats. Using simple stitches, you will have this project done in no time.

Premier basix medium (worsted) weight acrylilc yarn (7 oz/359 yds/200 per skein):
2 skeins #27 juniper
1 skein #01 white
Small amount #61 buff (nose)

Size J/10/6mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
Size F/5/3.75 mm crochet hook
Stitch marker
Small amount of fiberfill
Tapestry needle

6 sc = 2 inches
6 rnds = 2 inches
Take time to check gauge

Pattern notes


Use 2 strands held together for basket.
Do not join rounds unless otherwise indicated; place a stitch marker at the end of round and move as work progresses.
Whork over strands of yarn not in use when indicated.
Chain-1 does not count as a stitch.
Pay attention to if you are truning or not in the pattern.
You will be carrying 1 yarn under the other in some of the rounds.
You will place the nose on the 23rd round in middle of face.
Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Stuff nose with fiberfill.

Rnd 5: [Sc dec in next 2 sc] around, leaving a 12-inch length of yarn, fasten off. (5 sts) Sew nose to center of face on rnd 23.

Beard


Cut 100 strands of white each 10 inches long. With size F hook, [fold a strand of yarn in half, starting at right edge of rnd 22, insert hook around se post, draw up a lp, draw cut ends through Ip on hook, pull tight] rep to form beard, spreading strands evenly in white area. Trim ends of beard to desired length.
