I found this adorable crocheted elephant, with the amigurumi technique. My granddaughter loved it, I share the pattern I found on the internet

Materials


■ Medium (worsted) weight yarn:

21/2 oz/125 yds/71g gray
1/4 oz/13 yds/7g each pale blue, red,teal, white
Small amount black

■ Size G/6/4mm crochet hook
■ Tapestry needle
■ Pair 12mm blue safety eyes
■ Powder blush
■ Cotton swab
■ Small piece white felt
■ Polyester fiberfill
■ Stitch marker

Gauge is not critical to this project. 

Pattern Notes


Toy is not intended for children under 3 years of age.
Work in continuous rounds. Do not join or turn unless otherwise stated.
Mark first stitch of round. Move marker as work progresses.
Weave in ends as work progresses.

Body


Rnd 1: With gray, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: [Sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: [Sc in each of next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (30 sc)
Rnds 6 & 7: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 8: [Sc in each of next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (36 sc)
Rnds 9–11: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 12: [Sc in each of next 4 sc, sc dec (see Stitch Guide) in next 2 sc] around. (30 sc)
Rnds 13–15: Sc in each sc around.

Stuff firmly without stretching sts.

Cut 2 circles from felt just larger than eyes and cut a small slit in the center of each. Insert eye stems through the slits in the felt circles and then attach eyes to head following manufacturer’s instructions.
Rnd 17: [Sc dec in next 2 sc] around. Leaving 5-inch end, fasten off. (6 sc)
Weave end through sts of last rnd; pull to gather top of Head closed. Secure end.

Trunk


Rnd 1: With gray, ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (5 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (10 sc)
Rnd 3: Working in back lps (see Stitch Guide), sc in each sc around.
Rnds 4–13: Sc in each sc around. Leaving 5-inch end, fasten off. Stuff lightly. Do not sew closed.

Face


Sew Trunk to rnd 1 of Head.
Embroider a straight stitch (see illustration) just above each eye with 2 plies black yarn, beg at each inside corner and pulling slightly on yarn to indent.

Referring to photo, embroider small straight stitches for eyebrows using 2 plies black. Sew Head to top of Body so trunk is slanting downward.

Hair


Cut 2 to 3 pieces of gray yarn each 4 inches long. Separate each into 2 plies. Using tapestry needle, pull each length through and knot around a sc near the center top of head. Separate ends and trim as desired.

Ear


Make 2.
Rnd 1: With gray, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: [Sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: [Sc in each of next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (30 sc)
Rnd 6: [Sc in each of next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc] around. (36 sc)
Rnd 7: Sl st in each sc around. Leaving 5-inch end, fasten off.

Weave end through 6 sts, pulling slightly to gather and indent ear slightly. Use rem end to sew each Ear to Head approximately 4 rnds from eyes.

Leg


Make 4.
Rnd 1: With pale blue, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: [Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc] around, changing color (see Stitch Guide) to gray in last st. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: Working in back lps, sc in each sc around.
Rnd 5: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 6: [Sc in next sc, sc dec in next 2 sc] around. (12 sc)

Rnds 7–14: Sc in each sc around.
Stuff bottom of Leg firmly without stretching sts. 
Lightly stuff upper portion.

Rnd 15: [Sc dec in next 2 sc] around. Leaving 5-inch end, fasten off. (6 sc) 
Weave end through sts of last rnd; pull to gather top of Leg closed. Secure end.
Position Legs on Body to ensure they will be level when Elephant is sitting upright. With tapestry
needle and yarn, make a st on 1 side of lower body to secure yarn (this will be concealed when leg is attached). Sew inside center of Leg to Body about 1 inch from the top of the Leg, then insert needle through Body to opposite side. Sew 2nd Leg to Body in same manner as first, and then insert needle back through Body to first side and make another st on inside Leg in same place as the first. Rep this back-and-forth process 3 or 4 times. Secure yarn and trim end.

Collar


Circles
Make 5.
Rnd 1: With red, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, changing color (see Stitch Guide) to white in last st. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around, changing to teal in last st. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc, ch 2) in each sc around. Fasten off. (12 sc, 12 ch-2 sps)
After all Circles are complete, weave a 12-inch length of teal yarn through 3 ch-2 sps in each circle, spacing circles evenly. Tie ends of yarn around neck. Finishing 

Using cotton swab, apply powder blush to cheeks and inside ears.
